Key Responsibilities
CDL Drivers primary responsibilities are to transport materials and equipment to our various job sites in a safe and timely manner. The driver is responsible for adhering to all State, Federal and DOT regulations and will obtain his daily assignments from the Company’s Dispatcher.
Duties
The driver shall be able to receive work related assignments from the Company dispatcher and execute these assignments in a safe and timely manner. The driver shall be well versed in the various regulatory requirements of FMCSA and DOT.
- Maintains work records, logs, and timesheets.
- Performs pre & post trip inspections.
- Conveys loads to their destination in a safe and timely manner.
- Inspects materials moving securement equipment such as cables, chains, binders and straps.
- Assists with loading, unloading of equipment and materials and coordinates activities of workers helping to load and unload.
- Reads and understands instruments on heavy trucking equipment.
- Operates material moving, loading and unloading equipment.
- Properly unloads materials and equipment to proper locations on jobsite or in the yard.
- Normal work requires frequent or continuous lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing or similar body and limb movement.
- Required to wear Company issued Personal Protective Equipment while on all job sites.
- Must be flexible to constantly changing conditions-both as they relate to work schedule, and project site conditions.
- Must be able to operate in team-atmosphere and assist foremen and co-workers in performance of duties.
- Responsible to work safely, assist in ensuring safe working conditions exist and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Class A CDL with Doubles and Triple endorsements.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years verifiable recent driving experience and a clean criminal and driving record.
- Preferred experience with heavy equipment or oversized loads.
