CDL Driver

Heavy Haul & Specialized Rigging

If you’re looking for a driving job where every load fits neatly between the lines, this probably isn’t it.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, we don’t specialize in ordinary.

Our crews move massive equipment, oversized loads, specialized tooling, and the equipment needed to accomplish some of the most challenging heavy haul and rigging projects in the industry.

And none of it gets where it needs to go without great drivers.

We are looking for an experienced Class A CDL Driver who knows that professional driving is about more than holding a steering wheel. It takes judgment, preparation, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a field team.

You’ll haul equipment and materials to project sites, help make sure loads are properly secured, assist with loading and unloading, and work alongside the people responsible for getting the job done.

Some days you’ll know exactly what to expect. Other days, the load may have different plans.

That’s heavy haul.

What You’ll Do

As a CDL Driver at Edwards, you will:

  • Transport equipment and materials safely and efficiently to project sites.
  • Receive assignments from Dispatch and adapt as project needs and schedules change.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain required logs, work records, and timesheets.
  • Inspect chains, binders, straps, cables, and other load-securement equipment.
  • Make sure loads are properly secured before hitting the road.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate with crew members during loading and unloading activities.
  • Operate material-moving and loading equipment when required.
  • Safely position and unload equipment at project sites and in our yards.
  • Work alongside Foremen and field crews when the job requires it.
  • Follow FMCSA, DOT, company, and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Speak up when you see an unsafe condition.

What We’re Looking For

A CDL gets you in the truck. Your judgment determines what happens next.

We’re looking for a professional driver who brings:

  • A valid Class A CDL with required Doubles and Triples endorsements.
  • At least two years of recent, verifiable driving experience.
  • A strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT requirements.
  • Experience with heavy equipment or oversized loads is preferred.
  • A commitment to safe driving and proper load securement.
  • The ability to inspect and understand heavy trucking equipment.
  • The willingness and physical ability to assist with loading, unloading, and other field activities.
  • The flexibility to handle changing schedules, project requirements, and jobsite conditions.
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to help get the job done.

Why Edwards?

Because you didn’t get a Class A CDL just to stare at the back of the same box trailer every day.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, driving is part of something bigger.

You aren’t simply delivering freight to a loading dock. You’re supporting crews performing complex heavy haul and specialized rigging projects. The equipment you’re hauling may be exactly what the team needs to execute a move that has been planned for weeks or months.

Your work matters before the truck ever moves and long after it arrives.

At Edwards, you can expect:

  • Interesting loads. Heavy equipment, specialized tooling, and project-specific equipment make this different from ordinary freight.
  • Challenging destinations. Our work takes place where the projects are, not simply from terminal to terminal.
  • A role beyond driving. Our drivers are part of the field operation and help make the entire project successful.
  • Experienced people around you. You’ll work with professionals who understand heavy haul, specialized rigging, transportation, and field execution.
  • Variety. Loads, destinations, schedules, and project requirements change.
  • Work you can be proud of. When one of our crews accomplishes something extraordinary, you’ll know you helped get the people and equipment there to make it happen.

Still Interested?

Good.

Because we’re not looking for someone who simply wants to drive a truck.

We’re looking for a professional driver who wants to be part of the operation.

Someone who understands that the load matters. The equipment matters. The schedule matters. The crew waiting on you matters. And above everything else, getting there safely matters.

If you’d rather haul something interesting than wonder what’s inside the box, we should talk.

Bring your experience. Bring your judgment. We’ll provide something worth hauling.
