At Edwards Moving & Rigging, our crews move some of the largest and most challenging loads in the industry. Behind those moves are specialized transport systems, heavy haul components, custom tooling, and equipment that must perform when the job demands it.
That is where you come in.
We are looking for a Welder / Fabricator who takes pride in craftsmanship, pays attention to the details, and understands that the quality of their work matters long after the last weld is finished.
Working under the direction of our Fabrication Shop Supervisor, you will fabricate, modify, and repair components used to support Edwards’ heavy haul and specialized rigging operations.
This isn’t about making the same weld hundreds of times on a production line.
It’s about building and repairing equipment that has a job to do.
What You’ll Do
As a Welder / Fabricator, you will:
- Weld, fabricate, modify, and repair heavy haul components, transport equipment, and specialized tooling.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce components that meet project requirements.
- Perform GMAW (wire), FCAW (flux core), and SMAW (stick) welding as required.
- Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Work with steel, aluminum, and other alloys.
- Select appropriate welding equipment, torches, tips, filler materials, and settings based on the material and application.
- Use tools and equipment necessary to fit, assemble, fabricate, and repair components.
- Inspect your work and pay close attention to fit, quality, and accuracy.
- Follow established safety practices and use equipment properly.
- Work with shop, engineering, field, and operational personnel to help provide the equipment our projects require.
What We’re Looking For
Good welding requires technical skill. Great fabrication also requires judgment, patience, and pride in the finished product.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Previous welding or fabrication experience.
- The ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A solid work ethic and commitment to doing quality work.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with people throughout the organization.
- The physical ability to perform hands-on fabrication work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crawling, and working in different positions.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Welding certification is preferred, and experience fabricating heavy equipment is a plus.
